गाइये गणपति जग वंदन, संकर सुवन भवानी के नंदन,
सिद्धि सदन गज बदन विनायक, कृपा सिंधु सुन्दर सब लायक।
मोदक प्रिय मुद मंगल दाता, विद्या वारिधि बुद्धि विधाता,
माँगत तुलसीदास दास कर जोरे, बसहुँ राम सिय मानस मोरे।।
सरलार्थ
गोस्वामी तुलसीदास जी इस वंदना में श्री गणेश को सर नवा रहे हैं जो सारे जगत द्वारा वंदनीय हैं और भगवान शिव एवं माँ जगदम्बिका के पुत्र हैं। तुलसीदास जी आगे कहते हैं की श्री गणेश, जिनका शरीर गज समान है और जो सब सिद्धियों का घर है, सब विनायकगणों के स्वामी हैं। ऐसे भगवान गणेश को लड्डू प्रिय हैं, वे हर तरह के मंगल को प्रदान करने वाले हैं और ऐसी बुद्धि जिसमें हर तरह की विद्या समा सके देने वाले हैं। इसके बाद तुलसीदास जी हाथ जोड़ कर भगवान श्री गणेश से विनती करते हैं कि उनके मानस में भगवान श्री राम और माता सीता बस जायें।
English Translation
The above verse has been written by Goswami Tulsidas Ji who is praying Lord Ganesh who in turn is prayed by all and who is the son of Lord Shiv and Maa Jagadambika. Lord Ganesh has the body like of an elephant and which is the home of all types of Siddhis (all sorts of expertise) and who is the master of all Vinayakganas. Further, he describes Lord Ganesh as one who likes Laddus (an Indian sweet) and who gives good fortune and a mind that may be able to learn all types of studies. Later, he seeks blessings of Lord Ganesh so that Lord Ram and Maa Sita may reside in his mind all of the times.
